The Institute invites to move around in the fresh air
May is orienteering month at the university. In addition to the course compiled by the university museum, the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology has also planned an orienteering course.
The institute invites its employees, students, alumni, friends and all the others, to participate, whether on their own, with colleagues, friends or family members.
The course is open from 26 May to 1 June.
The Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology was founded 31 years ago on June 1st.
The course is open for participants at any time during this period, no time will be taken or the passing of the points checked. However, the checkpoints, eight in total, based on the institute’s history, should be visited in the given order.
According to the Director of the Institute, Professor Maia Kivisaar, the Institute wanted to celebrate its birthday with a surprise to its employees and students, combining excercise, adventure and good company. In the times of coronavirus, the only way to celebrate is to do it outdoors, with keeping distance, so we decided to bring some interesting aspects of the history of the institute to the participants and offer the possibility to explore the city on foot or by bike.
Completing the entire course at a leisurely pace takes approximately 2.5 hours.
