Profession-based Scholarships
The purpose of the profession-based scolarship is to motivate students to study full-time in areas of priority for the Estonian state.
1. Scholarships financed from the IT Academy programme:
- Bachelor’s studies of computer science - 240 € per month, laptops free of charge
- Master’s studies of software engineering- 300 € per month
- Master’s studies of computer science - 300 € per month
- Master’s studies of teacher of mathematics and informatics - 300 € per month.
2. Scholarships financed from the European Social Fund (ESF) of the European Union:
- Bachelor’s studies of computer engineering - 160 € per month
- Bachelor’s studies of geography - 160 € per month
- Bachelor’s studies of biology and biodiversity conservation - 160 € per month
- Bachelor’s studies of physics, chemistry and material science - 160 € per month
- Bachelor’s and Master’s studies of gene technology - 160 € per month
- Bachelor’s and Master’s studies of computer science - 160 € per month
- Master’s studies of materials science - 160 € per month
- Master’s studies of physics - 160 € per month
- Master’s studies of chemistry - 160 € per month
- Master’s studies of mathematics - 160 € per month
- Master’s studies of mathematical statistics - 160 € per month
- Master’s studies of biomedicine - 160 € per month
- Master’s studies of secondary school science teacher - 160 € per month
- Master’s studies of software engineering - 160 € per month
- Master’s studies of robotics and computer engineering - 160 € per month.
In order to apply for the scholarships, the student submits an application in the autumn semester by 30 September and in the spring semester by 28 February via the Study Information System, including first year students.
The applicant for profession-based scholarship must fulfil the following criteria:
1. studies full time;
2. is not on academic leave;
3. has not exceeded the standard period of study of the curriculum;
4. has completed the curriculum cumulatively to at least 30 credit points per semester;
5. had no negative study results in the semester preceding the application for the stipend;
6. is a citizen of Estonia or resides in Estonia on the basis of a long-term or temporary residence permit or a permanent or temporary right of residence.
The committee draws up the ranking list of students who have applied for the scholarhip and meet the criteria. The ranking list is drawn up based on the weighted average grade over all the credit points of the study results of the applicant in the previous semester. To students matriculated in the autumn semester, the profession-based scholarship of the autumn semester is granted on the basis of the admission ranking list.
